    JOB DESCRIPTION

Credentials: LCSW, LCMHC, LPC, CSW, CMHC, or PC — Therapist and Counselor applicants welcome.

Sunset Counseling Services is hiring a full-time Outpatient Mental Health Therapist to join our clinical counseling team. We are a community-focused counseling practice dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to children, adolescents, adults, and couples. This is a W-2 employee position with a comprehensive benefits package, clinical supervision toward licensure, and full administrative support designed to let you focus on what you do best: client care.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

As a full-time outpatient therapist and counselor, you will carry an active caseload and provide direct clinical services approximately 40 hours per week from our office location. You will deliver both in-person and telehealth therapy sessions to clients, with all services provided on-site from our office. This is a Monday through Friday position with no on-call responsibilities and no weekend hours required.

    Your weekly schedule will include:

    • A minimum of 30 face-to-face clinical hours per week providing individual, couples, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based treatment modalities
    • Approximately 9 hours per week dedicated to clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plan updates, and required recordkeeping
    • 1 hour per week participating in a team clinical consultation meeting to support professional development, case collaboration, and continuity of care

    CLINICAL FOCUS

Our agency serves children, adolescents, adults, and couples across a wide range of presenting concerns. We do not expect every clinician to work with all populations; we encourage you to focus on the clients you are most skilled and drawn to serve. Our highest areas of clinical need include anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Please note that we are not a substance abuse treatment facility and do not provide services where substance use is the primary diagnosis.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct individual, couples, and family therapy sessions grounded in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, solution-focused therapy, or other modalities aligned with client needs
    • Collaborate with clients throughout the treatment planning process, actively involving them in setting therapeutic goals and empowering their engagement in the recovery process
    • Develop, implement, and maintain individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's presenting concerns, updating them at clinically appropriate intervals
    • Maintain a consistent caseload to ensure continuity of care, meeting or exceeding the minimum of 30 direct client contact hours weekly
    • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with all applicable regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards
    • Participate in weekly clinical consultation meetings and ongoing professional development activities

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field
    • Active state licensure as an LCSW, LCMHC, LPC, or equivalent clinical credential; pre-licensed candidates holding a CSW, CMHC, or PC who are actively working toward full independent licensure are strongly encouraged to apply — clinical supervision toward licensure is provided at no cost
    • Demonstrated competency in evidence-based therapeutic interventions for anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or relational concerns
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education requirements
    • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build therapeutic rapport with clients across diverse populations and age groups
    • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULE

    • Monday through Friday schedule; no on-call responsibilities and no weekend hours required
    • All services are provided on-site from our office location; clinicians deliver both in-person and telehealth sessions from the office
    • Full administrative support provided: our office manager handles client scheduling, insurance claims, billing, and related administrative tasks so you can focus entirely on clinical work
    • Clinical supervision toward licensure is provided at no cost as part of your employment for clinicians working toward full independent licensure
