Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Outreach Support Assistant to provide administrative and logistical support for community engagement and public outreach initiatives within a public transportation organization. This mid-level position assists with coordinating outreach events, responding to public inquiries, maintaining outreach materials, and supporting departmental staff in daily operations.
The Outreach Support Assistant plays a key role in ensuring outreach activities run efficiently by assisting with scheduling, documentation, event preparation, and stakeholder communications. The role requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and community members. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 4-5 years of of administrative, customer service, or outreach support experience
- Experience providing clerical or administrative support to a team or department
- Experience responding to phone, email, and in-person inquiries in a professional manner
- Experience assisting with scheduling, calendar coordination, or event logistics
- Experience preparing correspondence, maintaining files, and entering data accurately
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook; PowerPoint preferred)
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
Experience Preferences:
- Experience working in a government, public agency, nonprofit, or transportation-related environment
- Experience supporting community outreach events, public meetings, or engagement activities
- Experience assisting with meeting coordination, preparing materials, and taking notes
- Familiarity with tracking spreadsheets, stakeholder contact lists, or internal databases
- Experience assisting with vendor coordination, purchase requests, or basic invoicing processes
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (files, office supplies)
- Frequent use of hands for typing, filing, and operating office equipment

Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
Education Preferences:
- Associate degree or coursework in Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration, Community Engagement, or a related field

- Coursework in public relations, communications, or business operations
