BACKPACKER: 

Backpacker, one of 40 brands at Outside Inc., delivers inspiration, motivation, advice, and service to a diverse audience of passionate outdoor enthusiasts seeking to enjoy a trail-loving lifestyle. From destinations, gear reviews, and packing lists to in depth stories about personal triumphs and transformations, Backpacker helps outdoor enthusiasts embrace the outdoor lifestyle, both on and off the trail. 

DATES FOR THIS SEASONAL POSITION: MAY, 2022 TO MID-OCTOBER, 2022

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE: 

● Travel as part of a two-person team of Backpacker ambassadors throughout the United States (May-October) on behalf of Backpacker and the Get Out More Tour brand partners sharing your passion for hiking, camping, and backpacking with Backpacker's audience of active and aspiring outdoor enthusiasts 

● Conduct twenty (open to the public) gear and skills clinics highlighting Backpacker and the Get Out More Tour brand partners at specialty outdoor retailers throughout the United States 

● Host twenty “pint night” fundraisers on behalf of Backpacker and the Get Out More Tour brand partners designed to generate funds supporting local organizations with a mission to improve outdoor access for under-resourced populations within their communities 

● Serve as Backpacker ambassadors representing Backpacker and the Get Out More Tour brand partners at five outdoor festivals 

● Lead twenty on-trail group demonstration hikes 

● Create custom content (photography, video, etc.) for Backpacker and the Get Out More Tour brand partners 

● Utilize social media platforms to engage with, inform, and inspire Backpacker's audience to get out more. 

● Collaborate with Backpacker's Events Coordinator and Get Out More Tour brand partners' marketing teams to generate talking points, demonstrations, and strategic interactions for each 2022 Get Out More Tour event

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

● Established social media presence 

● Experienced content creator (writer, photographer, videographer) 

● Previous outdoor guiding experience

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of  between $45,000 to $48,000 annual **note this is pro-rated for duration of employment.   This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
