    Company Description

The year was 1991. Digital label printing hadn’t been invented yet, and the internet was in its infancy. Label printers could charge whatever they wanted, take as long as they wanted, and didn’t really care about the customer’s needs. That’s when Rudy Gaytan, president of Gaytan Foods realized he had to take matters into his own hands.

You see, Gaytan Foods was the largest copacker of fried pork rinds west of Texas, making over 30 brands of product at the time. Gaytan’s success was driven by delivering orders in 7-10 days. But that became more and more difficult as the typical lead time for labels was nearly 3 weeks.

So Gaytan bought a local label company and moved it next door to his food plant. Thus The Label Shoppe was born. As Gaytan’s pork rind business grew, he continued to invest in The Label Shoppe, buying newer and better equipment. With better equipment came increased label printing capacity that could be sold to other label buyers looking for excellent service.

In 2017 The Label Shoppe become completely independent from Gaytan Foods and is now run by Rudy’s eldest son Ryan and a dedicated leadership team with over 100 years of combined experience in the label and packaging business.

The Label Shoppe now has multiple production lines, including two state-of-the-art digital presses. We’re different because we were founded on the principle of caring for our customers and their needs, and we demonstrate our commitment to that principle every day.
