  • Responsibilities

    Abacus is looking to hire an Outside Sales Representative in the DMV area. 

    We are looking for a proactive leader who has a demonstrated record of delivering on defined goals and objectives while growing the above market.

    Job Description:

    The sales position comes with an established book of business. The candidate needs to have an insured vehicle for daily use, basic knowledge of the Northern Virginia / DC / Baltimore market and experience with B-to-B sales. You will be responsible for seeing customers on a daily basis, problem solving skills, able to communicate in a business-like fashion (bilingual is preferred but not required) and basic computer skills.

    Primary/ Essential Duties, Roles and Responsibilities: (Include but are not limited to):

    • Presents themselves in a professional and businesslike manner to all
    • Serves as a role model when coaching others on professional conduct and complex, customer related issues
    • The position will require research and development of new business through cold calling, networking and referrals on a daily basis
    • Able to gain product knowledge quickly and efficiently
    • Comfortable presenting new products and solutions to customers and prospects on a daily basis
    • Develop a consultative relationship with the client to be a resource for their strategic needs
    • Attend sales meetings, product shows, industry expositions and other business events as assigned or authorized by Sales Management

    Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

    • Strong leadership and time management skills
    • At least 2 years of successful sales experience.

       

    • Understanding and commitment to structured safety management system.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and delegate work in a fast-paced environment
    • Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.

       

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated ability with people & task management
    • Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Very strong communication skills: Must be able to demonstrate sourcing, presenting, negotiating, and closing skills in front of individuals or groups.
