WheelerShip is seeking an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) to join our team in Carlstadt, NJ. The OSR is responsible for developing new business, managing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth within assigned territories. This role focuses on building long-term partnerships through face-to-face meetings, onsite visits, trade shows, and strategic account management. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, thrives in a fast-paced sales environment, and enjoys cultivating strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
Account Management: Maintain regular communication with existing clients to understand their needs, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships to drive repeat business and customer loyalty.
Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, industry events, and cold outreach.
Territory Management: Manage a defined geographic sales territory, identify and develop new opportunities and maximize sales potential.
Sales Pipeline Management: Track opportunities and update CRM with accurate and timely information regarding activities, prospects, and customer interactions.
Client Meetings & Presentations: Conduct in-person meetings, product demonstrations, and presentations with prospective and existing customers.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with marketing, operations, and customer service to ensure seamless customer experience and maximize growth opportunities.
Market Research: Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends to adapt sales strategies.
Trade Shows & Events: Represent WheelerShip at industry trade shows, conferences, and local events to build brand awareness and generate leads.
Requirements
Associate’s degree (bachelor's preferred) or equivalent experience
3+ years of proven success in outside sales, account management, or a related role
Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel throughout assigned territory (company vehicle or mileage reimbursement provided)
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently, while still working well as a member of team
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Automotive industry experience is a plus.
Work Schedule: Primarily Monday – Friday, business hours, with flexibility for customer needs and travel
