Job Description
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Summer Coordinators
(Early Childhood, ESY Elementary or ESY Secondary)
TEMPORARY POSITION: Overbrook School for the Blind has been a staple in the Overbrook Section of Philadelphia since 1832.
We are looking for Paraeducators who can work four (4) days per week (Monday - Thursday) for our five-week ESY Program or six weeks Early Childhood Program.
The ESY Programs begins Tuesday, July 5, 2021, thru Thursday, August 5, 2021.
PLEASE NOTE: The Early Childhood Program will run for six (6) weeks beginning Tuesday, July 6th thru Thursday, August 12th.
HOURS OF OPERATION: 8:30 AM to 2:15 PM.

DUTIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
OSB will continue to adhere to the recommendations of PDPH and at this time we have been advised not to reduce our current mitigation measures.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED and Paraeducator Certificate or 2 years college (60 credits) or an Associate Degree from an accredited College or University. 1-3 Years Experience working with visually impaired students with additional disabilities, preferred. CPR, First Aid, certifications, or the willingness to acquire it. Computer Skills, including access technology for the blind, braille skills, classroom management, and behavior.
