Location: Reading, PA Schedule: Part-Time | Overnight Shift Pay: $18 an hour Benefits: Steady Hours, Training Provided, Supportive Work Environment Hours: Friday-Sunday 8pm-6am | 30 hours a week

Position Overview

KRE Security, a locally owned regional security company, is seeking a professional, compassionate, and dependable Security Officer to provide full-time security coverage at an all-female residential shelter. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply due to the nature of the facility and resident population.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a visible and calm security presence throughout the facility

Control access to the shelter and monitor entrances and exits

Conduct routine patrols of common areas and grounds

Enforce shelter policies while treating all residents with dignity and respect

De-escalate conflicts and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies

Work collaboratively with shelter staff and leadership

Complete daily logs and incident reports accurately and timely

Required Qualifications

Clean background check

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to remain calm, professional, and empathetic in sensitive situations

Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in shelters, residential facilities, healthcare, or security

Training or experience in de-escalation, trauma-informed care, or crisis response

Compensation

Starting Pay: Based on each client contract and will vary by site

Overtime: Paid for any hours over 40 hours per week, weighted according to applicable law

Full-Time (30+ hours/ week):

Paid Time Off: 24 hours earned after probationary period is satisfied
