The Worthy Ones Program serves youth who need structure, safety, emotional support, and consistent mentoring. Our Direct Care team provides relational care, accountability, and daily guidance that helps youth heal, grow, and thrive.
The Overnight Direct Care & Mentoring Specialist provides a steady, safety-forward presence for the youth in our residential program. This role is responsible for overseeing evening and overnight routines, ensuring a secure environment, and offering calm, compassionate mentorship.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Crisis Readiness
- Maintain a safety-forward mindset in all interactions.
- Demonstrate confidence in crisis intervention and de-escalation.
- Apply approved physical restraints when necessary for safety (up to 150 lbs), following TCI protocols.
- Respond quickly, take charge when needed, and uphold safety procedures at all times.
Relational & Restorative Care
- Offer a compassionate presence that helps youth feel supported and understood.
- Build rapport intentionally through consistency, respect, and authentic care.
- Provide restorative guidance that redirects behavior while preserving dignity.
- Model emotional regulation, respectful communication, and healthy boundaries.
Daily Support & Structure
- Supervise and support youth during evening routines, transitions, and overnight hours.
- Maintain a warm, stable, home-like atmosphere with clear expectations.
- Teach life skills such as work ethic, manners, social skills, and problem-solving.
- Reinforce structure that supports emotional and behavioral stability.

Documentation & Team Communication
- Complete shift summaries, incident reports, logs, and required documentation accurately.
- Communicate clearly during handoff meetings.
- Partner with supervisors, clinicians, and other staff to support youth goals.

Minimum Qualifications
- Training or willingness to be trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or similar
- Ability to perform approved protective interventions and physical restraints when necessary
- Physical ability to respond quickly to crises and maintain safety
- Must be 21+
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED (higher education preferred)
- Experience in youth services, residential care, behavioral health, or related fields preferred
- Ability to complete CPR, First Aid, and medication-administration training
Work Environment
- Residential youth campus setting
- Overnight schedule; may include weekends or holidays
- Mix of independent quiet hours and fast-paced crisis moments
- Regular interaction with youth navigating trauma, instability, and behavioral challenges

Paid Time Off (after successful 90-day review):
- Full-time position (40 hrs/week) with accrued PTO.
- Vacation, personal, and sick time are provided annually and accrue throughout the year.
- Sick time is eligible for payout in future years when financially possible.
- Ten paid holidays annually. Staff may be scheduled on holidays but receive either an alternate day off or holiday pay within the same pay period.
