  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    **This position is a 20 hour a week position and is paid at a rate of $15/hour. This position is based out of our Boston or DC office, but will be remote for the duration and is open to locations in the US outside of these areas. 

    The Executive Office (EO) is a small (but mighty), high-trust team that provides strategic support to the President and CEO, the Senior Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors. The intern will support the work of the EO on a variety of projects directly relevant to the team and organization’s priorities:

    INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

    SUPPORT INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS LEAD ON:

    • Planning and executing monthly staff meetings
    • Representing EO at various department meetings to identify and propose partnership opportunities
    • Serving on gender resource network to support integration of feminist principles and practices across organization
    • Monitoring engagement and developing content for intranet and internal social media channels
    • Supporting return to work and workplace transformation (to hybrid) strategy development and implementation
    • Collecting and reviewing staff feedback on key initiatives and culture
    • Supporting development and implementation of racial equity roadmap
    • Researching and proposing implementation of industry best practices for internal communications, staff engagement, and change management
     
    

    BROADER TEAM SUPPORT

    • Support team members on the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Executive Office’s work, as directed
    • Work as a team with members of staff and other interns on project deliverables
    • Participate in work-related activities (i.e., meetings, webinars, workshops, conferences, brownbags), take notes and prepare summaries for staff
    • Identify key people within the field of international development, humanitarian and human rights for potential Board outreach

    • Very good oral and written communications skills.

    • Flexibility and a good sense of humor.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Interest in the field of international development, humanitarian and human rights
