    Job Description

    PURPOSE OF POSITION: To implement innovative, multi-dimensional corporate partnerships with the private sector, towards securing funding for Oxfam’s work that aligns with Oxfam’s core areas of program expertise, mission, and values. This position will have a two-pronged strategy: to advance the strategy for and development of corporate workplace giving campaigns, employee engagement initiatives, thought leadership opportunities, corporate convenings, and seeking other opportunities to raise unrestricted revenue and deepen corporate engagement; as well as support the programmatic partnerships that drive restricted grants led by the Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships, and manage a select portfolio of programmatic partnerships.

    COORDINATES WITH: Institutional Funding and Partnerships, Private Sector Department, Public Engagement & Brand Department, Individual Giving and Engagement, Theme Directors for Extractive Industries, Tax, Inequality, Climate, Gender Justice, Inclusive and Resilient Food Systems, and Humanitarian Program & Policy, Oxfam Volunteer Leadership, and Finance Department, as appropriate.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    WORKPLACE GIVING (60%)

    • Advance the development, implementation, and delivery of workplace giving campaigns, thought leadership opportunities, and more to drive corporate partnerships.
    • Assist the Senior Manager in the design, advancement, and execution of corporate convenings and thought leadership opportunities that leverage Oxfam’s corporate partnerships.
    • Coordinate the design, structure, and management of high-skilled corporate volunteer engagements and seek out opportunities to leverage corporate talent to build capacity within Oxfam offices globally.
    • Advance the Customer Related Marketing (CRM) aspects of workplace giving campaigns through Oxfam platforms as well as in coordination with third party providers.

     

    CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS (40%)

    • Support and advance programmatic partnerships led by the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships.
    • Help write and/or edit pitch materials, corporate brochures, presentations, proposals, and reports, including the narrative and financial segments, talking points and related materials as appropriate to support fundraising strategies. 
    • Advance innovative corporate partnership strategies and initiatives.
    • Help implement and coordinate special projects for Oxfam America, Oxfam International, and affiliates that further the agency’s corporate funding / brand raising goals and strategy (such as special events and multi-affiliate opportunities.)
    • Help ensure corporate partnerships meet Oxfam Ethical Screen criteria and advance Oxfam’s change agenda with respect to the private sector, including oversight and coordination of due diligence, engagement with relevant Oxfam program leads and communications with corporate partners.

    GENERAL 

    • Assist in writing and/or editing pitch materials, corporate brochures, presentations, proposals, and reports, including the narrative and financial segments, talking points and related materials as appropriate to support fundraising strategies.
    • Advance the sourcing and structuring of new corporate workplace giving and corporate partnerships, conduct outreach to companies and help develop pitches to new, prospective partners
    • Work with the Senior Manager to provide guidance to program staff on information required for proposals and reports to support successful fundraising with corporates and corporate foundations. 
    • Be well versed in Oxfam programs and as needed, act as a resource to the fundraising and communications staff regarding program knowledge.
    • Work collaboratively with program staff and others regarding how to make programs more marketable to corporate funders.
    • Remain current on trends in corporate funding, cause marketing, corporate social responsibility, and corporate sustainability, and on changing interests of corporates & corporate foundations.
    • Undertake donor-related travel as appropriate and share learnings internally.
    • Be familiar with donor information systems.
    • Perform other corporate fundraising activities as needed.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a field related to writing, communications, research and analysis, business, political science or international relations, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
    • Minimum 3-5 years related experience, preferably with 1-2 years in successful partnership development for corporates, foundations, and cause marketing opportunities or equivalent combination of advanced education, experience, and training.
    • Excellent writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with donors, staff, board members, and volunteers. 
    • Excellent listening and motivational skills.
    • Strong time management, organizational, planning, and administrative skills, including comfort with various information systems, and fluency with word processing and spreadsheet applications on MS Office and databases.
    • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices relative to corporate donors and foundations.
    • Basic knowledge of budget construction and interpretation.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to communicate in French or Spanish.
    • Experience in an issue-oriented non-profit organization or in an international development organization.

    Additional Information

    This is a Boston Union /Exempt / Band F position.

    Salary range for Band F is $58,600 - $84,970
