Intern, Public Engagement Communications
Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Oxfam America is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Intern to work closely with its Public Engagement division. This position will provide communications support to a diverse and multi-functional Public Engagement division in service of Oxfam’s mission to fight inequality to end poverty and injustice. Work with staff on the content and design teams, media relations team, digital and supporter engagement and brand and engagement teams to help deliver on communications goals. The Intern will have the opportunity to gain practical skills and get an inside understanding of communications, campaigning, lobbying, grassroots organizing and outreach within an international development agency. The internship offers a friendly and open work environment of supportive staff with whom to share knowledge, career advice, and workplace mentoring.

Oxfam America is a hybrid workplace and this position can be remote or work in-person out of the Boston or DC offices. Note that Public Engagement staff are located across the US and primarily work remotely.

** Hours and Pay**
This is a 6-month paid position at $17/hr. The internship will start in June or July 2024 and end in December 2024, exact start/end dates are flexible.
This is expected to be a 32 hour a week job with working hours between our business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm ET)
