    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY Provide confidential operational and strategic support to the Vice President, Global Programs in their external engagements, management of Global Program leadership and division, and engagement with the Board

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    •  Support for the Vice President and VPGP office:
      • Support strategic initiatives for the VPGP
      • Manage the VPGP budget and track budgetary requests and decisions for VPGP
      • Support development and alignment of Global Programs architecture (meetings, leadership, cross-team initiatives)
      • Manage VPGP’s outreach and external relationships (local, national, and global) with support from GP staff and others (major donor team, etc)
      • Manage and coordinate VPGP’s external commitments (boards, advisory councils, panels)
      • With guidance from VPGP, write, edit and circulate key memos, reports, correspondence, and announcements for a wide variety of internal and external audiences

    • Support VPGP travel, including briefings, trip support, and post-trip follow-up and communications
    • Lead or support special projects as assigned
    • Support for the Global Program leadership teams and division
      • Provide strategic support and coordination to the Global Programs Leadership (GPL) Team, including agenda development, deliverables tracking, communications from the GPL, and support on analysis and special projects as needed.
      • Support Global Programs division and Global Programs Management Team meetings and communications.
    • Support for Board
      • Support the OUS Board Program Committee and VPGP’s relationship and responsibilities with OUS Board, including managing Program Committee logistics and agenda development, preparing materials and Committee and Board meetings

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    EXPERIENCE AND CORE COMPETENCIES

    • Three to five years of relevant work experience
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple tasks and complex logistics in a high-pressure environment; project management experience and training preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to work with senior level staff effectively
    • Understanding of international development
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Ability to anticipate, coordinate and facilitate activities with colleagues
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
