Program Aide at Oxford Seniors' Adult Day Service, PRN (as needed)
Who we are: The Oxford Seniors Community Adult Day Service (ADS) is designed to provide a supervision and support for older adults with cognitive or physical needs in a small group setting. We are open M-F from 8:30-4:30.
Participants may be experiencing memory impairment or physical limitations which isolate them from the greater community.
Participants find a secure environment, fun activities, and opportunity to socialize. Activities are focused on cognitive skills and healthy meals and snacks are provided. The atmosphere is one of acceptance and encouragement.
Goals of Community Adult Day Service
To facilitate a level of independence for participants
To provide respite and support for caregivers
To enable participants to remain at home with their families for as long as possible
Who we are looking for:
The person in this position will work with older adults that have age-related cognitive and physical deficits. Generally assists the clients with activities and meals, as well as general cleaning of rooms and other related tasks. Assists the Activity Assistant carry out programs and activities.
Essential Duties:
Provide clients with their morning drink and snack. Provide clients with newspapers, magazines. Talk with clients that enjoy morning conversations.
Help the Activity Assistant with morning game, exercise or craft. Help clients complete activities that they are unable to complete by themselves.
Set up for lunch: Clean up any morning items left on the lunch tables, wipe lunch tables down, set out silverware and ice water at each lunch spot.
Help with serving lunch
Visit and eat lunch with clients
Help with cleaning and sanitizing the table after lunch.
Assist the Activity Assistant with activity prep for following week.
Performs other duties of a comparable level and type.
