OVERALL PURPOSE:
The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for medical oversight of all aspects of care for the organization’s medical group, IPA network, and medical management teams. The Chief Medical Officer is to provide strategic leadership and direction and be responsible for growing our network. This position will receive operational direction as well as performance feedback from the Nevada Chief Medical Officer.
LICENSURE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Must have a current, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Arizona (MD or DO)
Must maintain Medical Staff membership in good standing with appropriate privileges at a minimum of one area hospital in Pima county
Preferred advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, MPH or MMM
Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
Minimum 7 years practice experience
Minimum 3 – 5 years of administrative experience in an administrative position
Minimum 3 – 5 years leading and managing clinicians
Minimum 3 – 5 years overseeing quality and/or utilization in a managed care organization, hospital or health care plan
Must be familiar working with Medicare Risk programs
Must be comfortable working in a matrix reporting organization

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works collaboratively with the Population Health Management Office (PHMO) clients championing the Quadruple Aim-improved population health management, cost of care, improved patient experience and improved clinician experience
Ensures accreditation of facilities, clinicians and ancillary health care personnel
Promote the mission, vision and values of P3 Health Partners
Engagement with member organization Chief Medical Officer
Responsible for strategic clinical relationships with stakeholders, physicians, and staff
Attends Board meetings, Committee Meetings and other meetings as assigned and may Chair some committees
Experience implementing new operating processes and systems aimed at improving efficiency
Participates in executive strategic planning at the corporate level
Oversees the utilization management guidelines and decisions, quality of care and treatment modalities
Develops, contributes, and supports P3 contractual quality initiatives
Researches, identifies, and implements new technologies that contribute toward clinical transformation
Develops new economic models for operations
Well versed in both inpatient and outpatient medicine with strong clinical skills
Strong ability to understand and interrupt multiple sources of data for better patient care
