    PALMETTO TRADING

    POSITION TITLE: SALES CLERK

    STORE LOCATION: 610 Hwy 1 S, Lugoff SC

    REPORTS TO: Manager / Store Owner

    EMPLOYMENT STATUS (FT/PT) Part Time

    FLSA STATUS: Hourly

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Reports to the store owner or store manager if applicable. Responsible for all store operations on the shift.

    KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

    1. Welcomes customers and assists them in finding items they are looking for. Consistently represents the store in a positive and professional manner. Always resolves customer concerns in a polite and professional manner. Elevates customer concerns to owner as needed.

    2. Verifies customers meet South Carolina age requirement before selling to them. Refuses sale to customers who are clearly intoxicated or do not have proof that they meet South Carolina age requirement.

    3. Takes detailed customer requests and communicates with owner/manager for follow up.

    4. Makes suggestions to customers based on personal knowledge of spirits as well as feedback given about certain items by others including owner and customers.

    5. Executes sales transactions on Clover POS system accurately. Reports discrepancies to owner/manager.

    6. Manages cash drawer counting accurately at the beginning and conclusion of each shift. Communicates results to owner/manager. Cash drawer and file cabinet must be locked each night.

    7. Replaces sold stock promptly. Always maintains shelf blocking and orderliness. Is familiar with stock levels and replaces floor stock with inventory from storage as needed.

    8. Maintains safe store environment in all areas. Floors and aisles must be kept clear of debris, empty boxes, etc. Any spills or wet areas must be cleaned up immediately. Back door must always remain locked unless receiving delivery or taking waste out to the recycling dumpster.

    9. Executes store cleaning and hygiene tasks per attached cleaning schedule.

    10. Reports to work as scheduled on time and ready to begin work on arrival. Ensures all work tasks are completed before engaging in any non-work activity during slow periods. Engages completely with customers while customers are in the store.

    11. Dresses appropriately for a professional retail business. Closed toe shoes are required. Facemask is required to be worn while customers are present until further notice.

    12. Receives deliveries from suppliers in absence of owner/manager. Accurately reviews delivery invoice and ensures physical receipt of all items listed in correct quantities and in good condition. Enters received inventory into Clover accurately. Puts inventory onto shelves or storeroom as appropriate. Breaks down cardboard boxes and recycles them promptly.

    13. Completes physical inventory counts as assigned. Reports all discrepancies to owner/manager.

    14. Restocks operating supplies such as bags, sanitizer, paper towels, printer paper, etc. Reports low stock condition to owner/manager for replenishment.

    15. Identifies potential theft signals and makes efforts towards eliminating theft. Engages with customers to minimize opportunities for theft. Notifies owner/manager if any theft is suspected. Notifies Authorities if theft is witnessed.

    16. Records hours worked at end of each shift to ensure correct bi-weekly payroll.

    17. Requests time off in advance. Works with other employees to minimize schedule conflicts.

    18. Completes all other duties as assigned by owner/manager.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    PERSONAL: Age Minimum: 21, Valid Driver License and Reliable Transportation, Authorized to work in the US.

    EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent

    EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years work experience preferably in retail sales, knowledge of wine and spirits

    SKILLS: Customer Service, Communication, Organization, Basic Math, Prioritization
