Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE

The AS400 / RPG Programmer position supports the business by analyzing, developing and modifying software applications including coding, testing and involvement with installation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Analyze user needs and develop strategy to accomplish requirements

2. Code new programs and enhance existing programs

3. Document modifications made to programs

4. Test/Debug new and/or modified programs to ensure quality

5. Review new and/or enhanced programs with requestor

6. Setup installation process once project is complete

7. Troubleshoot and debug existing code to identify and resolve issues

8. Willingness to communicate with users and other programmers to find best solution to design and optimize project requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

1. IBM iSeries experience

2. Excellent programming abilities using RPG, RPG ILE, RPG Free

3. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

4. Must be detail oriented

5. Must have good communication skills
