    PATH is seeking an Accounting Manager over Revenue Billing, Accounts Receivable and Donor Reporting to manage and provide leadership over award-based revenue billing and reporting.  The team led by this role is responsible for the review and monitoring donor agreements and awards, providing input to program and proposal teams on revenue related agreement terms, supporting the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, revenue and receivable account reconciliations and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), PATH policies and procedures, and internal controls related to all revenue sources for the organization. 

     

    Experience working in donor-funded organizations, particularly those receiving substantial US Government funding would be a big plus as navigating requirements and working with donor representatives is a critical part of this job.  In addition, this role includes oversight over the development, design, and maintenance of general ledger accounts impacted by revenue and the related receivables (and valuation allowances). PATH is also continuously working on infrastructure enhancements that significantly impact both processes and the related systems and this position will have a front row seat to the planning, design, and implementation of all related elements.

     

    Responsibilities include:

     

    • Manage the Revenue and Donor Reporting team, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work and work schedules.
    • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees. Develops growth opportunities through coaching and developing staff.
    • Review and assessment of accounting policies and procedures related to all revenue sources of the organization.
    • Oversee tracking of all related grant and pledge receivables, including collections and related valuation considerations.
    • Primary subject matter expert for technical GAAP accounting related to all forms of revenue, Federal award requirements (OMB Super-circular) and PATH accounting policies and procedures, including both reviewing and conducting related research.
    • Coordinate and review (or ensure the review of) deliverables for internal, external, and program-based audits.
    • Review related balance sheet reconciliations monthly, quarterly and/or annually as required.
    • Provide oversight over internal controls impacting all revenue and accounts receivable, recommend and coordinate improvements.
    • Provide training to accounting staff both in the US and PATH’s country offices, resolve accounting questions, and supply both guidance and input on the design of accounting processes.
    • Manage consistent communication by members of the teams to internal and external parties and provides leadership and guidance around change management and prioritization.

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    CPA required.

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting a plus.

    Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and 3 years of experience in a management and leadership role.

    Experience supervising (or working with) remote office locations, and a mix of both public accounting and private company/non-profit organization experience preferred.

    Identify and develop strategic opportunities for the department with a view of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Must be action oriented, have strong oral & written communication skills, and strong organizational abilities.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons from diverse educational, economic and cultural backgrounds.

    Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, and experience with accounting/ERP system in a multi-company and multi-location environment.

    Ideal candidate will also have experience with:

    • Donor compliance, particular in organizations receiving substantial US Government funding
    • Complex contracts and agreement administration
    • Revenue recognition
    • Non-Profit accounting
    • Developing countries
    • Multi-currency environments
    • Improving processes and implementing automation
    • Unit4 Business World or other ERP system
    • Partnering with others both inside and outside the organization
