    PATH is seeking a GLOBAL DEPUTY PROJECT DIRECTOR for the USAID-funded Country Health Information Systems and Data Use (CHISU) project. The project will aim to enhance country capacity to produce high-quality health information and evidence-based decision-making. It will also work to strengthen the enabling environment of health information management and strategic planning.

    The Deputy Project Director will be responsible for reporting and meetings with the USAID designated Activity Manager as well as provide vision, direction, leadership, and management to the award, in support of the Global Project Director. They will partner closely with the Global Project Director to manage the consortium of partners and various country implementations and ensure technical quality across all work conducted within this project, as well as full compliance.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides technical leadership and guidance for implementation of the work plan.
    • Supervise Technical Advisors and oversee the work of consultants in regional and country activities.
    • Support in the development and implementation of annual project work plans and budgets.
    • Work closely with the Project Director and other Senior Technical staff to contribute to continuity across program implementation areas.
    • In collaboration with finance staff, prepare and track the progress of project and activity budgets.
    • Manage the day-to-day administrative aspects of the project including information technology, operations and human resources.
    • Lead the recruitment process, ensuring adherence to local labor law, and oversee the implementation of HR policies and procedures, including staff training and accountability mechanisms.
    • Work closely with HQ staff (Finance, HR and Grants, Contracts and Compliance) to fully utilize and interpret all current reporting tools, as well as create new reports/tools and improve current reports/tools.
    • Oversee business operations of the projects, including HR management, program implementation, and day to day finance and administration.

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • Minimum of a master’s degree in public health, public administration, public policy, international development, or a related field;
    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in an international context;
    • At least five years in management of international development programming;
    • Demonstrated experience working with senior level representatives of developing country governments, international organizations, U.S. Government Agencies, other bilateral donors, civil society organizations, and private sector organizations;
    • Demonstrated management, leadership, decision‐ making, and interpersonal skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and effectively and efficiently navigate the rules and regulations of U.S. Government awards; and
    • Full professional proficiency in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
