PATH's work in Mozambique focuses on improving the health, nutrition, and development of vulnerable 0–3 year-olds and their caregivers. We build the capacity of both governmental and non-governmental partners to ensure that children and their caregivers receive a holistic package of services. We currently work in Maputo, Nampula and Zambezia Provinces.

PATH intends to recruit a PROFESSIONAL DRIVER to work in Nampula province for a period of 8 months (with possibility of renewal) under the supervision of the Provincial ECD Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Ensure the safe transport of personnel and will be responsible for the maintenance of the PATH vehicle
• Must be guided by preventive driving
• Drive the vehicle in a safe and well-presented manner
• Maintain a friendly and pleasant environment for passengers
• Assist passengers when needed
• Perform daily operational vehicle inspections, including tires, lights, oil, water, brakes, and interior
• Perform simple routine maintenance and repairs
• Final person responsible for the vehicle
• Report any problems to the supervisor, sweep and clean the vehicle
• Ensure vehicle safety
• Keep the vehicle's log book duly filled in
• Keep the vehicle folder with the insurance policy documentation, vehicle registration, manifest, inspection and emergency instructions as provided for in PATH Mozambique's vehicle management policy
• Ensure the existence of the first care kit in the vehicle
• Ensuring that the vehicle is used in accordance with PATH Mozambique's vehicle management guide and policy
• Responsible for loading and unloading your vehicle.
• Report vehicle movements to your supervisor for regular movements and imperatively for movements outside normal working hours
• Assistance to other occasional activities

Required Skills

• Complete Middle Level
• Minimum 5 years of driving experience, preferably in International Organizations
• Possess a valid professional/public driving license and an excellent safe driving record
• Possess strong accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to respond
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Knowledge of spoken and written English will be an advantage
• Mechanical skill will be an advantage
