    HealthFitness has a great opportunity for an EVENING FRONT DESK SUPERVISOR within our MIT Recreation program located in CAMBRIDGE, MA. In this position, you will perform registrations for memberships and instructional programs, provide towel service, serve as a backup lifeguard, and provide customer service support. You will be cross-trained to work all frontline positions and must be open and flexible to work during all operational hours at both the Alumni/Wang Center and the Zesiger Center.

    The primary schedule for this position will be 1:30PM – 9:30PM, Monday – Friday.

     

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Processes all registrations for Aquatics, Fitness, and Member Services using Club Automation management software.
    • Submits facility work requests to MIT Facilities, communicates all maintenance and repair issues to the Assistant Director of Alumni/Wang.
    • Collaborates and effectively communicates with full-time Member Services staff in regards to daily membership administrative responsibilities (e.g. membership status reminder emails, rejected credit card collection, daily ID card deactivations, insurance documentation requests).
    • Acts as the Point of Contact (POC) for the facility during shift; responds to, and reports on emergency/incident/accident situations as they arise.
    • Assists in managing the A/W pro shop and locker rental operations which includes: inventory, allocation, notifications, cleanout, and storage fee collection
    • Attend and participate in all Member Services in-service trainings, management meetings, and weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor.
    • Oversees the management and card deactivations for monthly payment credit card rejections.
    • Serves as the secondary lifeguard for the Alumni Pool while on duty; provides support for the primary lifeguard and Wang Fitness staff.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:

     

    REQUIRED:

    • Associate’s degree along with frontline customer service experience.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    • American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required within 60 days.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent at multi-tasking while possessing a professional demeanor and attitude.
    • Must be team oriented and self-motivated.
    • Please be advised that the client site in which this position is located does require periodic COVID-19 testing performed onsite and at no cost to you.  Employment at this location will be contingent upon your adherence to this testing requirement.

     

    PREFERRED:

    • A degree in Business, Communication, Recreation Management or Fitness.
    • Experience with point of sale systems.
