    PATH is endeavoring to build an efficient, effective, and equitable primary healthcare system to help achieve India’s commitment to Universal Health Coverage. PATH is working with a mission to accelerate people-centered Comprehensive Primary Healthcare (CPHC) through innovation and partnerships. Our approach to building CPHC in India is driven by our foundational values of adaptive learning and collaboration. In addition, interventions based on local context, inclusive stakeholder engagement, data, and evidence-driven decision-making is key to this approach. PATH’s strategy for building the CPHC model is through technical assistance, partnerships, and innovations for enhancing the accessibility of primary healthcare services and strengthening the capacity, efficiency, and resilience of the health systems.

     

    Additionally, it aims to catalyze community engagement for health systems that are responsive and accountable. As a part of this program, PATH proposes to integrate and strengthen services for youth and adolescents to position the CPHC as an Adolescent-friendly Hub by establishing linkages with existing government programs.

     

    ABOUT THE POSITION

     

    PATH is seeking a Public Health Coordinator position for strengthening urban primary healthcare focusing on young and adolescent healthcare issues in the state of Manipur. Key responsibilities of the position include technical assistance in planning and implementation of urban health programs with a focus on strengthening aadolescent-friendlyhealth services in urban settings.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Provide technical support to the state in the establishment of urban Health and Wellness centers as per the state’s target and strengthening Urban primary health centers for improving the continuum of care for Adolescent health services in urban areas
    • Facilitate coordination between the district and state urban health units for accelerating improvements in urban health
    • Travel to assigned districts for planning, implementing, and monitoring the key project activities.
    • Undertake supportive supervision visits to health facilities in the assigned districts and share feedback at the district and state levels for planning corrective actions.
    • Prepare action plans to address the gaps in the operationalization of urban HWCs and strengthening of UPHCs
    • Facilitate the capacity building of the division, district & facility-level functionaries on various Urban Health interventions, and adolescent health components.
    • Creating linkages of urban HWCs with school health programs and strengthening the delivery of preventive and promotive care for young adolescents at urban HWCs and UPCs
    • Facilitate the constitution of Adolescent-friendly Clubs (AFCs) at the urban HWC and UPHC level to enable cross-learning among peer educators and youth groups
    • Support in Strengthening supply chains for ensuring uninterrupted supply of drugs and consumables as per state Essential Drugs List
    • Work closely with partners to strengthen the community engagement component and preparation of roadmap and action plan for the engagement of youth and adolescents.
    • Timely collection, compilation, and analysis of program implementation data from all the assigned districts and give feedback to the concerned districts and state program lead for its regular uptake.
    • Liaises and manages stakeholders at the district level involved in project activities.
    • Manage and coordinate diverse tasks and facilitate relationships among multiple stakeholders.
    • Support in the documentation of learnings, results, successes, challenges, and dissemination
    • Undertake other tasks which may be assigned from time to time by the national or state leadership
    • Available to travel at the district level up to 50-60% of the time.

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

     

    • BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ M.Sc. Nursing is preferred with a post-graduation degree in public health/health administration/health management or another relevant field.
    • At least 2-3 years of experience in the public health sector focusing on planning and implementation of public health programs
    • Prior experience working in similar roles, primary healthcare, or urban health settings is desirable
    • Technical knowledge and field experience in planning and implementation of public health programs
    • Experience working with NHM in similar geographies will be preferred
    • Experience with INGOs in the health sector and/ or Ministries of Health, and the government is preferable.
    • The candidate must be a self-starter and committed to performing their duties with minimal direct and day-to-day supervision.
    • Management skills, ability to create synergies, and interpersonal skills to fulfill the diverse technical and managerial requirements of the project.
    • Professional experience working with international donor organizations, civil society, and government organizations.
    • Excellent written communication skills. Fluency in English and ability to converse in the local language.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
