PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships, and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing health challenges.

Driven by an increased understanding of the vulnerabilities in a siloed healthcare system and by a rising global acknowledgment of the “one-health approach,” the government of India (GoI) has taken several steps to bring India closer to systemic integration and universal health coverage (UHC). In 2020, the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) was launched, which first introduced the concepts of district Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHLs) and Block Public Health Units (BPHUs). In the context of lab integration, PATH is the technical partner of choice with the National Health Systems Resource Center (NHSRC), the GoI’s nodal agency for centrally sponsored schemes including FC-XV and PM-ABHIM. PATH has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NHSRC to provide TA to all states and is currently providing active and significant support to states including Bihar, Karnataka, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra amongst others.
