    OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

     

     

    Under direct supervision of PATH’s Director for Infectious Diseases for Myanmar and as part of a cross cutting Communication team in South Asia, the Communication Officer is responsible for ideating, planning, writing, editing, delivering, managing and evaluating content on PATH's activities and projects for various audiences and channels, including supporting activities with events, media and digital engagement.

     

     

    SCOPE OF WORK

     

     

    Help develop engaging communication strategies and content for PATH's various stakeholders, audiences and channels, both online and offline, to achieve key communication objectives by focusing on (but not limited to) achievement of the following results:

    • Develop and implement communication strategies and activities depending on the project's needs.
    • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of the organization's style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for different channels and audiences of content, including online, social media, email, video and print
    • Ensure all communication material in line with donor's branding and marking policy
    • Support development of content and social media strategy that aids communication and influencing efforts, both short- and long-term
    • Lead the development of project brochures, case studies, fact sheets, articles, success stories and other communication assets.
    • Help develop a functional content and digital calendar to ensure a regular content flow for various needs and the organization's digital channels.
    • Produce content for multiple digital platforms and channels, including the website, email, collateral, media pieces, social media, and more.
    • Research and maintain lists of relevant influencers, funders, and high-impact hashtags
    • Liaise/ communicate with in-house and external expert reviewers/ proofreaders to ensure accuracy and clarity of technical content
    • Track and assess social media metrics, insights, and best practices to help us continuously improve our reach and engagement with key audiences
    • Act as communication focal for PATH in Myanmar in terms of social media Pages, website, and other digital media.Identify, build, organize and maintain a mailing list of key audiences and support the build-out of relevant newsletters and emailers for our target audiences
    • Be an arbiter and creator of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style for the organization
    • Develop standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and repurposing
    • Establish workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content for PATH's online channels
    • Maintain content inventories, including photo, video and design assets
    • Ensure consistent experience in keeping with the organisation's style guidelines and implement appropriate localization/translation strategies as needed
    • Provide advice, guidance and training on the effective creation, use and dissemination of content to staff
    • Maintain a record of all communication collateral produced and track inventory status of the same
    • Maintain a pool of up to date and relevant case studies on different projects
    • Any other work as assigned and needed

     

     

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • At least 4-5 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in working with international NGOs will be an asset.
    • Post-graduate degree in English/Journalism/Mass Communication.
    • Flair for creating compelling content that can engage and influence different audiences from technical updates, reports and case studies.
    • Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies for digital platforms informed by insights gleaned from content analytics and audience analysis
    • Experience writing in a range of styles and formats;
    • Ability to write and proofread both technical and non-technical documents in English; strong journalism or writing training a plus;
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure from tight deadlines
    • Self-starter, adaptable and able to work as part of a cross-cutting and multi-cultural team.
    • Open to travel to project sites for extended periods if required.
    • Burmese with fluency in English speaking, listening and writing skills
