    POSITION OVERVIEW:  Our IT team is growing and currently looking for a SENIOR SECURITY ENGINEER III.  This role is primarily responsible for the overall implementation and effectiveness of the Cybersecurity Team’s security tools.  In addition, the person in this role will begin to work with Trustmark’s Infrastructure team to ensure network security controls are in place and operating effectively to mitigate risks to the organization. We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated individual to drive and complete Cybersecurity Engineering related projects and tasks.

     

    You will have responsibility for defining, selecting, implementing, and driving the best outcomes from our tools within our Cybersecurity technology stack. The role will help participate in the security program direction with planning and strategy of our security tools. 

     

    You will interact closely with vendors, service providers, and associates within our IT Departments (including Security Operations, Application Security, Security Architecture, GRC, Infrastructure, and IAM).  Your hands-on security technical expertise will help you execute your responsibilities for a broad range of tasks, including the day-to-day administration/support of Cybersecurity tools and devices; and maturation of our Cybersecurity technology stack, and associated processes and procedures.  A successful candidate will bring a positive attitude and the ability to work within our organization’s digital transformation.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plans, designs, optimizes, implements, audits, and troubleshoots the network security system to improve the efficiency of the organization.
    • Leads the full life cycle of Cybersecurity solutions/tools; implements, maintains and operates Cybersecurity controls and countermeasures
    • Develops, tunes and maintains Cybersecurity tools to automate analysis capabilities for network-base, host-base and log-base security event analysis
    • Maintains Cybersecurity tools including log management and SIEM
    • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities
    • Partnerships with Infrastructure to assess and solution network security related issues
    • Assists in identifying IT security impacts/risks and help translate them into secure solutions
    • Maintains up-to-date, detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or improved security solutions and policies, processes and procedures
    • Evaluates new and emerging security threats, products and technologies
    • Performs security tests on networks. Designs these tests and tools to try to break into security-protected networks to probe for vulnerabilities. Keeps up with the latest methods for ethical hacking and testing and is always evaluating new security testing tools
    • Provides support and partnership with Security Operations team on an ad hoc basis and during security incidents
    • Attends CAB meetings to ensure changes to Trustmark’s environment are reflected in our security tools
    • Maintain progressive certifications and attend training (remote, virtual or in-person) to keep up with industry

     

     QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Strong intellectual curiosity
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
    • 4+ years in IT/Security, with experience in financial services a plus
    • Knowledge of Edge Security, Endpoint Security, Secure Email Gateway, Endpoint Hardening, SIEM, DLP, UBA, and SOAR platforms along with other industry standard security tools and agents
    • Advanced knowledge with Azure and O365
    • Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g. Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell)
    • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
    • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills
    • GSEC, CEH, CCNP Security, GCIA, SSCP, or equivalent certifications
    • Ability to thrive in a flexible work environment where many associates work from home
