PATH is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter, and enthusiastic program associate to support its ongoing work on diagnostics, pandemic preparedness, and health systems strengthening. PATH’S WORK ON DIAGNOSTICS AND PANDEMIC PREPAREDNESS

PATH has been working towards increasing access to affordable and good-quality diagnostic services in a wide range of disease areas including Tuberculosis, Neglected Tropical Diseases, HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, etc. Innovation is a key driver of our interventions, and we constantly strive toward scaling up sustainable solutions within the existing health system. PATH has been working closely with the Indian central government and various state governments to enhance diagnostic services in public health laboratories. During the COVID-19 pandemic, PATH worked closely with select state governments to implement solutions that reduced the burden on COVID-19 laboratories and improved the turnaround time in getting results. We also helped in establishing whole genome sequencing (WGS) facilities in these states to decentralize genomic sequencing of the SARS CoV 2 pathogen. This work on WGS is being leveraged to other disease areas. With the increase in urbanization, climate change, and habitat destruction, there is an increased threat of emerging diseases and the potential for future pandemics. In this regard, PATH is working towards facilitating public health facilities to better prepare for such a scenario and contribute to overall health system strengthening.
