    TITLE: Child Psychiatrist (Part-Time)

    RESPONSIBLE TO: Medical Director

    WORK AREA: Xenia, Ohio (may require travelling to see clients at other locations in Ohio West)

    SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, the Child Psychiatrist is responsible for conducting counseling sessions with children, adolescents, and their family members. The child psychiatrist must have extensive knowledge of and experience in psychopharmacology and behavioral therapies.

    PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

    • Meeting with patients and evaluating their conditions, disorders, or disabilities.
    • Diagnosing mental and affective conditions.
    • Developing treatment plans, counseling, and determining when psychiatric medication is necessary and appropriate.
    • Assisting patients as they cope with difficult situations.
    • Educating family members or guardians on supporting patients.
    • Consulting for social services and court systems.
    • Continuing education activities.
    • Review and monitor services and activities, documenting progress.
    • Support our care team environment by working collaboratively with Client and Client Family as appropriate, physicians, nurse practitioners, case management, referral sources and ancillary agencies.
    • Appropriately document services provided per the policies of PATH Behavioral Health, your professional licensing body and state and federal guidelines.
    • Participate in care conferences and case reviews.
    • Document and report concern of abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities per the requirements of state/federal law and that of your licensing body.
    • Work professionally with referring providers or agencies, court systems, probation departments, foster care agencies and school system.
    • Must be committed and respectful of cultural diversity, religious and personal values and traditions of clients and their families in alignment with agency mission.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Licensure: Ohio Licensed Physician (MD or DO), in good standing. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Full prescriptive powers in Ohio with a DEA license

    Experience/Skills: Extensive knowledge of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents. Flexibility to cover additional work sites and provide aid in crisis situations.

    Physical Effort: Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires sitting, viewing computer monitors and keyboarding for extended periods of times. Requires ability to communicate professionally via telephone and in writing.

    Interpersonal Skills: Requires excellent interpersonal skills, time management and professional communication style.

    Background: Must pass all federal and state background checks. Educational and work history will be confirmed in compliance with company policies.
