    TITLE: Nurse Practitioner

    WORK AREA: Outpatient behavioral health office, via telemedicine

    SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner Supervisor, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide comprehensive behavioral health care to children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing mental health disorders. Responsibilities encompass assessment, diagnosis, and treatment while proactively identifying risk factors associated with these conditions. Utilizing their expertise and clinical knowledge, the NP will contribute to the development of personalized care plans and collaborate with care team members to ensure an integrated approach to mental health care. This interdisciplinary collaboration is essential to achieving optimal outcomes for clients and fostering a supportive environment where their mental well-being can thrive.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Day-To-Day Responsibilities

    • Deliver comprehensive mental and behavioral health care by integrating services with psychiatry, clinical therapists, and case management for a diverse adolescent and adult patient/family population.

    • Collaborate closely with physicians to ensure high-quality integrated care, offering consultation, education, and cooperation with other healthcare professionals.

    • Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and families while providing client education and appropriate referrals.

    • Work together with the Medical Director and other physicians or Nurse Practitioners in scheduled care conferences.

    • Order and interpret client laboratory screenings, reviewing prior care documentation and consulting with previous care providers.

    • Prescribe medications within the scope of your practice, maintaining follow-up care with clients and families.

    • Timely and accurately document all provided care in the electronic health record, adhering to company standards for prompt documentation.

    • Apply correct coding guidelines for billing and provide necessary information to the billing department to resolve claim reviews or denials.

    • Contact appropriate authorities to report concerns of abuse or neglect according to the standards of your professional licensing body.

    • Collaborate professionally with law enforcement, court systems, probation departments, foster care providers, and other relevant parties.

    • Thoroughly understands and adheres to all organizational processes and policies.

    • Works closely with colleagues and coworkers to ensure transparent communication and effective implementation of the organization's goals, objectives, and processes.

    • Maintains an organized practice and schedule, arriving at work punctually and ready to fulfill duties, and leaving upon completion of client care responsibilities.

    • Upholds strict compliance with HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality agreements.

    • Demonstrates a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

    • Serves as a role model, exemplifying the mission and vision of Path Behavioral Healthcare.

    • Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program.

    • Current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.

    • Maintains an active, unrestricted license as a registered nurse in the state.

    • Attends all relevant internal educational meetings and completes all necessary continuing education opportunities as required by the licensing body.

    Day-To-Day Team Member Responsibilities

    Willingly collaborates with all Path Behavioral Healthcare employees in a professional and cooperative manner.

    Licensing/Continuing Education

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited university.

    Licensure: Board of Nursing licensure - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Active DEA required.

    Experience: A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a behavioral health environment. A thorough knowledge of billing and coding guidelines is essential.

    Physical Effort: This position requires the ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours. Requires sitting for extended periods of time, viewing computer monitors, and

    keyboarding.

    Communication Skills: Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate professionally via telephone and in writing. Strong grammar and writing skills are crucial for clear and concise communication with clients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

    Interpersonal Skills: The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to interact and assist in a friendly, compassionate, and professional manner with colleagues, providers, clients, and their families, as they represent both themselves and Path Behavioral Healthcare.

    Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Candidates must achieve competency in the Electronic Health

    Record (EHR) program, telemedicine services, and any additional software programs utilized by Path, ensuring efficient access and updating of client information. The role requires fine

    dexterity, adept handling, and proficient gripping abilities to perform various tasks.

    Background: The candidate must pass all federal and state background checks, and their educational and work history will be confirmed in compliance with company policies.
