    Job Description

    PatientSafe Solutions helps care teams communicate and work together reliably and efficiently through a mobile platform that unites clinical communication with workflows in one application, on one device. PatientTouch delivers secure messages, voice calls, critical alerts and nurse calls to a unified inbox prioritized for each care team member. The platform extends to include clinical workflows like rounding, specimen collection, sepsis, and nursing documentation. Deeply integrated with the EMR, clinical, and directory systems, PatientTouch provides real-time patient, clinical and care team context for more efficient care collaboration and decision making.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    The iOS Engineer will be a member of a highly motivated team. This role will develop, maintain, and help support innovative solutions in an enterprise environment to enhance our customer experience. The person that succeeds in this role will be excited about improving clinical care communication, eager to work with cross functional peers and be able to thrive in fast-paced agile environment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop high quality software solutions in collaboration with product management, engineering leadership, quality assurance, and clinical specialists
    • Support enterprise application deployments through tier 3 support, troubleshooting, documentation, and patching/release
    • Active participant in agile process
    • Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams, senior architects, and management
    • Assist in task planning, decomposition, estimation, and scheduling
    • Remain current on new technologies and impacts of updates to existing dependencies (e.g. iOS updates and their impact/potential)

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
    • Deep familiarity/production experience with Objective C
    • Experience with Agile software development practices and tools
    • Strong object-oriented design/programming skills
    • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and trade-off analysis
    • Experience/understanding of concurrency and resilient implementation
    • Experience working with REST APIs
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Willingness to participate in occasional pair programming sessions as a means of knowledge transfer/context sharing
    • BS in Computer Science or related degree

    RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

    • An appreciation for the effort required/reward in delivering enterprise grade clinical solutions in volatile production environments
    • A willingness to work in an environment that includes both new development/innovation and real maintenance across multiple versions
    • Inherent detail-oriented nature coupled with a natural curiosity/desire to continuously improve/learn
    • Understanding/interest in underlying iOS constructs/capabilities/limitations/rules (e.g. APNS, PK, CallKit, etc.)
    • An appreciation for the value of automated testing and an ability to implement
    • Experience/understanding of common server-side architectures and how they may impact client applications (concurrency, load distribution, service decomposition, etc.)
    • Familiarity/working knowledge of SQL databases
    • Experience working with remote teams
