    We are currently seeking to add a TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST to our dynamic Human Resources team. This position will be located in our PORTLAND, OREGON district office. 

    WORKING WITH THE PBS TEAM 

    To help us follow our many avenues for growth, the PBS Human Resources department is looking for a self-directed, team-oriented individual to build on their recruiting strengths and hiring know-how with our energetic, innovative, and inclusive team.     JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • You will build professional relationships with colleges, technical schools, and other educational programs to provide valuable outreach to potential candidates and interns. This will involve fostering relationships with college placement officers, professors, and advisors as well as organizing and attending job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
    • An ongoing effort will be focusing on the external brand reputation of PBS Engineering and Environmental. You will work closely with our Belonging and Equity (BE) Leaders, Marketing Department, and others to share our company reputation in the community and on various social media platforms.
    • Belonging and Equity (BE) is a priority for us at PBS and is woven into everything we do. As the Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will continually focus on ways to integrate BE work into our talent acquisition practices.
    • You will focus on PBS’ internal networks by collaborating with department leads and hiring teams to identify project needs and to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications desired for staff. You will be a liaison throughout the process by maintaining exceptional communication with hiring teams and candidates to create a smooth, efficient, and rewarding process for everyone involved.
    • You will continuously reach out to external organizations as they are related to talent acquisition. This will include being an active member in various associations with other PBS employees, attending conferences and career fairs, and collaborating with outside resources such as other recruiting agencies and recruiting platforms (i.e. LinkedIn).
    • Your ability to communicate effectively is extremely important. You will provide regular talent acquisition updates to PBS leadership and operations team members as well as communicate talent acquisition needs both internally within PBS and to our community in a variety of ways. The ability to think creatively, strategically, and efficiently in these areas is important.
    • You will actively work with PBS leaders and supervisors as it relates to talent acquisition. This includes initiating meetings to discuss talent acquisition strategies, providing regular status updates, supporting ongoing training, and much more.
    • Since talent acquisition involves each of our eight offices and outreach with schools, professional organizations, and other community events, some travel will be required.
    • The ability to perform other related duties as assigned is also required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in conducting interviews.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and social networking skills with a proven ability to be creative and innovative.
    • Ability to build positive relationships with college officials and others in related communities.
    • Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, and other related employment laws and guidelines.
    • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.
    • Ability to travel.
    • Bachelors degree in a related field required.
    • At least two years of human resources or related experience required.
    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SHRMs Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus.
