    We are currently seeking to add an ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST to our dynamic team in VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON.

    The successful candidate will work on a variety of interesting technical projects and programs for clients in our Environmental Service Department in the Vancouver, Washington office. This role will involve supporting PBS’s multi-disciplinary environmental permitting and compliance assessments that require working knowledge of state and Federal requirements. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with a growing engineering and environmental consulting firm focused on delivering excellent work for a diverse set of clients with challenging business needs.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Participate as a field team member on a range of projects; specific areas of focus may include stormwater compliance under the Industrial General Permit and/or Construction General Permit
    • Perform fieldwork such as stormwater sampling, inspections, hazardous material audits, compilation of waste and chemical inventories, on-site environmental compliance support, and other field-based assignments to support compliance-based documents and plans
    • Field collection of environmental samples (air, stormwater, groundwater, soil)
    • Support project teams with other tasks and management aspects as defined by team
    • Routine regulatory reporting related to stormwater, wastewater, solid/hazardous waste, and air permit compliance (SWPCP/SWPPP, SPCC, ASPP, Solid Waste Operations, etc.)

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS in environmental science or engineering or related discipline
    • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in environmental permitting and compliance experience; preferably in the following areas: conducting stormwater inspections, analytical and visual monitoring, reporting; writing and updating stormwater plans/SWPPPs, managing and updating State-specific plans
    • Valid driver’s license in a US State
    • Experience working with industrial facilities and familiarity with compliance challenges including common pollutants/pollution reduction measures
