    We are currently seeking to add an ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROFESSIONAL to our dynamic team in RICHLAND, WASHINGTON.

    WORKING WITH THE PBS TEAM

    The Tri-Cities Environmental Health and Safety Professional will perform a variety of tasks consistent with the industrial hygiene / environmental health service line. This will include building-material inspections, hazardous materials surveys, abatement planning and design, construction oversight, Indoor air quality investigations, exposure assessments, soil, water, and air sampling and other various tasks.

    This is an excellent career opportunity to work with a well-established consulting firm with a diverse set of clients with challenging business needs. This position will assist in representing PBS to existing and potential clients, maintain positive client relationships, communicate regularly with PBS IH leadership, and ensure the delivery of quality, attentive, and timely service. The Environmental Health and Safety Professional will report to the Industrial Hygiene Lead in Richland on a consistent basis on section activities, status of workload, and project updates.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3+ years of Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, General Construction, or related experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or a related field
    • Preferred certifications include Asbestos, Lead Paint, OSHA/EPA Safety Trainings, and HAZWOPER 40 hour certifications
    • Able to function in a collaborative team environment, while also able to operate and manage time and schedule independently
    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong technical writing skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook Calendar and Microsoft Teams
    • Able to manage multiple projects and clients independently
    • US Citizen with a valid driver's license and clean driving record
    • Ability to pass basic background check or security screening

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

    CLIENT MANAGEMENT

    • Interface with client and project site representatives
    • Schedule, coordinate, and execute field activities
    • Integrate with project management efforts
    • Review and track project budgets
    • Travel to project sites throughout eastern Washington/Oregon/Idaho regions on occasion
    • Represent PBS in a safe and professional manner both internally and externally

    TECHNICAL

    • Building hazardous materials surveys
    • Abatement remediation planning and design
    • Project management and oversight for asbestos and lead abatement projects
    • Report preparation
    • Indoor air quality evaluations
    • General project administrative duties
    • Ensure all written documents receive internal third-party review and QA/QC of deliverables
    • Continue to gain specific knowledge around asbestos, lead, PCBs, mercury, IAQ, etc., and testing and regulatory requirements
    • Increase knowledge of Project Management skills and look to cross sell and manage multi‐discipline projects that are represented by PBS service lines

    BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

    • Attend association meetings, tradeshows, conferences, etc.
    • Work with supervisor to make PBS more visible within the Tri‐Cities community
    • Work with other PBS service lines to foster business development opportunities
