    We are currently seeking to add a STAFF BIOLOGIST to our dynamic team in SEATTLE, WASHINGTON.

    WORKING WITH THE PBS TEAM

    STAFF BIOLOGIST

    As a Staff Biologist, you will work with and support Project Managers in their day-to-day activities. The range of projects include wetland delineations, permitting, mitigation design, wetland and natural resource planning, shoreline restoration, shoreline and in-water work permitting, critical areas permitting, NEPA/SEPA documentation, ESA compliance, arborist services, environmental construction compliance, water quality monitoring, and related activities.

     JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

    • Conducting wetland delineations and stream ordinary high water mark determinations as part of a team or alone (depending on experience)
    • Ability to travel and stay overnight for project work
    • Assist in preparation of memoranda and reports to document findings of the field studies
    • Assistance with the preparation of permit applications and supporting documents
    • Preparation of maps and graphics

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related discipline
    • Two or more years of progressively increasing professional responsibilities
    • Strong oral and written skills
    • Experience in AutoCAD or GIS

    AN IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION WILL HAVE:

    • Past experience working on local, state, or federal government projects
    • Experience working with regulators
    • Experience implementing projects within the framework for federal, state and local regulations, permitting, and compliance processes and procedures
    • Certificate in Wetland Science and Management or equivalent training
    • Wetland Professional In Training (WPIT) or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification preferred
    • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Biology or related discipline
