    We are currently seeking to add a STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/SCIENTIST to our dynamic team in Vancouver, Washington.

    STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/SCIENTIST

    The Vancouver Staff Environmental Engineer/Scientist position will involve technical work on a wide range of environmental projects including multi-media environmental compliance; stormwater management; solid and hazardous waste management; industrial wastewater compliance; spill prevention and control; planning and design of remediation systems; design and optimization of stormwater, groundwater, wastewater, and soil treatment systems; and stormwater treatment system startup and operation. The candidate will also interact with clients and facility operators as part of the varied project assignments. As a Staff Environmental Engineer/Scientist, you will work with project managers, engineers, geologists and scientists to develop solutions for our clients and deliver exceptional projects.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

    • Field collection of environmental samples (air, water, stormwater, soil)
    • Routine regulatory reporting related to stormwater, wastewater, solid/hazardous waste, and air permit compliance
    • Assisting with stormwater solutions for private industrial and municipal clients
    • Preparing multi-media environmental management plans (SWPCP/SWPPP, SPCC, ASPP, Solid Waste Operations, etc.)
    • Provide education and training on environmental topics to our clientele
    • Inspection and auditing for environmental compliance
    • Assist with the evaluation, design and permitting of environmental projects
    • Field oversight of construction projects related to environmental systems
    • Support project implementation and maintenance of treatment systems
    • Representation of PBS in a safe and professional manner both internally and externally

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • One to four years of environmental engineering, environmental management, or consulting experience
    • Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering or applicable science discipline from an ABET-accredited institution; a Masters in engineering or environmental science preferred
    • Engage in a collaborative team environment
    • Conduct field work under variable and potentially adverse weather conditions
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite
    • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, independently track, and meet deadlines
    • Valid driver’s license
