That’s why we strive to create a positive and supportive environment that fosters fulfilling, long-term careers.

We are currently seeking to add a CADD SPECIALIST to our dynamic team in PORTLAND, OREGON.

    WORKING WITH THE PBS TEAM

PBS is growing! In 2019 the company expanded services to include structural engineering and the buildout is now ready for an energetic and experienced CADD Specialist to join the group and take our tech game to the next level.  With a diversified mix of projects including bridges, buildings, marine and industrial structures, there will always be challenging and interesting projects to work on.  We specialize in getting things done, so if you like to see your projects get built, PBS is the place for you.  We have a unique blend of engineering and environmental services, public and private work, and multiple disciplines which make our project teams collaborative, dynamic, and fun.

To support these projects, you will work with our team performing structural engineering design and drafting work such as preparing building framing and foundation plans, bridge plans and elevations, marine structure design documents, structural sections and details, and other civil and structural drawing elements. These are projects that build and enhance our communities: local bridges, park structures, waterfront structures, utility structures, buildings, and much more. Projects are typically in our region; from Portland the structural group serves eight Oregon and Washington offices.  As part of the structural engineering department, you will be a fully engaged member, valued and included in our activities, invested in our growth, and sharing in our success.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position requires civil and/or structural engineering drafting experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation for a wide range of projects.  Experience/familiarity with Civil 3D, InRoads, and REVIT will be considered a plus.  Workload will consist primarily of creating construction documents for roadway and bridge projects, but diversified experience (such as private development and building design) is valued.

Successful applicants must have the ability to work as a team member but also with an aptitude to take initiative and to assume a lead CADD position for project groups. Candidates should have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and manage priorities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

    • Associate of Arts (AA) degree in CADD Drafting or related field
    • Five years of experience in a production CADD position using AutoCAD, at least some of which includes structural engineering drafting
    • Some experience using MicroStation in a production capacity
    • Technical aptitude and ability to comprehend civil and structural engineering content
    • Level of personal responsibility to work independently and within project teams, and to manage workload and work hours

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION WILL HAVE, IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE:

    • Experience with bridge and/or transportation design/drafting with AutoCAD
    • Experience with bridge and/or transportation design/drafting with MicroStation
    • Experience with Civil 3D
    • Experience with InRoads
    • Experience with REVIT
