    Job Summary:The PE+ Coach is responsible for supporting the PE+ Program success at their assigned school site. The PE+ Coach’s primary duties include:

    Leading and providing the best classroom experience for 15-20 students.

    Providing and monitoring different recess activities for the students.

    Knowing and valuing students by name.

    Preparing and implementing the PE+ Curriculum with their site team so all students get the same quality instruction.

    Having healthy, meaningful relationships with the school site’s students, teachers, administration, and parents.

    Maximizing the PE+ Program community impact by working and supporting the PE+ Site Leader and site team to continually improve the overall program effectiveness.

    Reports directly to the on-campus Site Leader

    Job Description:Under the direct supervision of the PE+ Site Leader, the PE+ Coach is responsible for providing quality structured PE+ classes and recess activities while building positive relationships within their staff, school, and students in the Redwood City School District. They will develop leaders within their classrooms and represent PE+ at the school they oversee.

    The PE+ Coach will collaborate and work with their site team to deliver excellent class instruction involving all students equally while implementing the set curriculum given to them from the PE+ program. The PE+ Coach will develop positive relationships starting with their team, students, and within their school community. Ultimately, the PE+ Coach will strive to know and value their school community, promote physical education and inspire students to become the best versions of themselves.

    The PE+ Coach is to engage, equip and empower their students and themself to:

    Act as a teacher, referee, teammate, and positive role model for their staff and students.

    Engage students in both individual and team activities, while going over safety, correct fundamentals, and classroom objectives.

    Lead and provide the best PE+ classes while creating a memorable and enriching experience for the students.

    Build healthy relationships with the school community outside of the PE+ classroom.

    Requirements:

    High school Degree required

    TB Testing

    August-June, Work Monday-Friday, 8am-2:30pm

    Physical Requirements:

    This job requires a person to be outdoors for the majority of the work daytime. Protective equipment for sun exposure is mandatory (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc).

    Must be able to stand and move around for hours at a time.

    Must be able to lift and transport up to 30 pounds of equipment.

    This job requires the setup and breakdown of equipment throughout the day.

    Be able to demonstrate proper form for exercises and skills based on the PE+ standards.

    Provide energy and enthusiasm on a daily basis.

    Program Development & Implementation:

    Ability to work as a team and implement fun, engaging developmentally appropriate activities through the PE+ Curriculum in your classroom.

    Responsible for immediately reporting and documenting if Site Leader isn’t present, any and all injuries or incidents to the PE+ program and school site.

    Helps support and maintain cleanliness and up-to-date inventory in program areas; including the upkeep of the equipment and facility in an acceptable manner and the set-up and breakdown during the program day.

    Communicates with Site Leader, team, and classroom teachers on a regular basis.

    Communicate and stay up to date with PE+ program and school site calendar with site team and students that include a variety of educational, enrichment, and recreational activities.

    Develop rapport and build positive working relationships with PE+ team, students, school administration, school staff, and parents.

    Works with Site Leader to implement programs that reinforce program success.

    Ability to lead and participate in all classroom activities, monitor safety, participation, and behavior, while implementing curriculum activities, and actively support and empower the students during class sessions.

    Communicates effectively and in a professional manner with Site Leader, team (including subs), school administrators, school staff, students, and parents on a regular basis regarding program activities or student/classroom progress.

    Staff Development:

    Develop leaders who develop leaders who develop leaders: Lead, mentor, support, and manage your students so they can develop their classmates to be better versions of themselves while creating a team atmosphere!

    Strive to achieve the PE+ mission, vision, and values, and the 3R’s culture (Reputation, Relationships, Reflect).

    Attend and actively participate in the program Bonfires and Campfires.

    Attend biweekly Firesides with your Site Leader.

    Strive to achieve team or individual monthly goals to support site staff as a contribution to professional development in line with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the organization.

    Staff Member:

    Establish, maintain, and strengthen collaborative working relationships with other PE+ School sites.

    Support and provide feedback to continually improve processes for program communications.

    Follow all PE+ and School policies and procedures.

    Actively participate in organization-wide activities as required (i.e. staff retreats, team meetings, trainings, etc.).

    Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Site Leader.

    Qualifications:

    Bay Area resident

    A minimum of 0-1 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience (please include experience in management or a relevant field)

    Ability or willingness to engage, equip, and empower a group of children.

    Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

    Excellent verbal communications

    Passion for working with kids and fitness

    Self-starter

    Excellent organizational and time-management skills
