    SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for an Engineering Technician VI / Foreman support work at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCP). The Foreman will support a test site to support Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) system research, development, testing, prototype evaluation, and in-service engineering support. Specifically, supporting a program to provide industrial services for test sites, equipment removal/relocation services, and maintenance services for various systems and equipment for the DDG-51, FFG-62 and DDG(X) Land Base Engineering Sites.



    Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Serve as the technical representative of government and commercial customers and projects while in the field, including equipment testing, interpreting, and evaluating field data (to include higher level mathematical equations and analysis).
    • Provide guidance, training, and oversight to junior field representatives.
    • Assign work to junior field representatives and technicians in support of project.
    • Provide input to project managers for proposals and Statements of Work.
    • Prepare status, progress, and final reports for projects, describing the results of field experiments and/or inspections.
    • Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of project.
    • Verify functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
    • Maintain and continuously seek improvements for test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.


    Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

    • Trade or industrial school graduate from an accredited institution.
    • Eight (8)+ years of experience and be at the journeyman level of competence for a millwright, plumber-machinist, or electrician trade position.
    • Of the eight (8)+ years of experience, a minimum of three (3) years shall be in with the operation, repair, modification, maintenance of U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) and electronic systems and equipment.
    • Experience shall include assigning or delegating responsibility for specified work tasking or functional activities and providing work direction to journeyman level trades personnel.
    • Independently plans and accomplishes complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity.

    • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
    • Ability to support a tactical resource plan by mapping future demand to forecast project completions in the project portfolio.
