    We are seeking to hire a motivated SOFTWARE ENGINEERING TEAM LEADER to join our collaborative, high growth organization located at our office based in Lane Cove, Sydney, Australia.

     

    The Team Leader will impact the organization by employing excellent leadership, problem reasoning, and innovation skills for efficient development of high quality, bug free, secure products. Responsible for  leading a collaborative and high performing team of expert software engineers for core feature development, maintenance releases, bespoke development, and automated test systems for products during development and during production.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Lead, motivate and nurture a team of experienced engineers.
    • Drive the development of high quality, bug free and secure products.
    • Contribute to the roadmap for the software team and manage delivery of the development program.
    • Understand and contribute to the technical solution from design and architecture through to code level.
    • Promote innovation in the core technologies, systems and frameworks used in all areas of software development.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering field (electronics, software, computer science, etc.).
    • 7+ years software engineering experience.
    • Demonstrated team or technical leadership experience.
    • Deep knowledge of computer networking.
    • Significant background in hands on software development in a variety of relevant languages (C/C++, Lua, Shell, Python).
    • Background in embedded Linux preferred.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Qualifications
    • Must have good electro-mechanical skills (motors, drives, transformers).
    • Knowledge of a specialized field such as machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance and repair, and/or a broad shop background.
    • Technical knowledge and logical troubleshooting across team product line.
    • Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
    • Rational decision making and problem solving ability.
    • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Availability for extensive travel depending on customer needs.
