  • Responsibilities

    The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is offering a Virtual Summer Internship to a qualified candidate who will support the Public and Patient Engagement team. This paid internship is a full-time, temporary employment opportunity averaging 40 hours per week for a postgraduate student. All applicants must be eligible to work in the US.     PAY RANGE AND EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

    Interns shall be classified as temporary employees who are hired as interim replacements, to temporarily supplement the workforce, or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work for a limited duration. Employment beyond any initially stated period does not in any way imply a change in employment status. Temporary workers are not eligible for PCORI benefits. 

    Current master's level and above students will be paid $20.00 per hour.

    The Public and Patient Engagement team is seeking an intern to:

    -Support team participation in cross departmental work groups by researching or synthesizing topic-specific information, preparing meeting summaries, and facilitating presentations

    • Review research plans, progress reports and other narrative information from PCORI Research Awards.

    • Assist with data analysis and thematic coding of engagement information into Salesforce

    • Support the writing of manuscripts, articles and blogs for publication

    • Support an analysis of project budgets as well as other analysis projects regarding engagement

    Required Skills

    The Public and Patient Engagement team is seeking an intern that will meet the following requirements:

     

    • Training or experience in qualitative data analysis
    • Experience synthesizing data/information from various sources and identifying themes
    • Ability to work independently and manage projects
    • Strong written, oral, and communication skills, including presentations
    • Seeking a Master's student or pre-doctoral student in health research or related field (e.g., public health, epidemiology, health services research, psychology, sociology, anthropology).
    • Experience, knowledge, or interest in community outreach and coalition building and management is preferred.
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Proficiency in Atlas.TI preferred

     

     

    Required Experience

    Ideal candidates will be pursuing their postgraduate education in one of the following areas: Social Science; Health Policy; Public Health; Public Administration; Health Sciences, or related field.

     

    APPLICATION PROCESS:

    Applications for the PCORI Summer Internship Program will be accepted up to 8:00pm EST on March 22. Applicants who are chosen will be phone screened by PCORI Human Resources. Virtual interviews at PCORI with relevant intern supervisors will take place from April 12 - April 23.
