Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift Job Summary
Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Role Overview
Delivers high-quality, patient-centered nursing care by implementing individualized care plans
Supervises LPNs, CNAs, and orientees
Supports interdisciplinary, rehabilitation-focused care
Key Responsibilities
Complete nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
Participate in initial and weekly interdisciplinary team conferences
Provide direct patient care using the nursing process with emphasis on patient and family education
Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from admission
Communicate patient status changes to physicians, charge nurses, and care team members
Delegate and supervise ancillary staff; provide leadership and support
Promote patient and staff safety and adhere to hospital policies
Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as needed
Safety & Professional Standards
Strong focus on patient and employee safety (safe handling, infection control, fall prevention)
Adheres to competency, appearance, attendance, and punctuality standards
Engages in continuing education and professional development
Requirements
Certifications: BLS required; ACLS required (facility-specific)
Experience: Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience preferred
