    Job Description

    ANAGER OF IT (Information Technology) Manager is in charge of all Information technology systems and functions within the company. He/She will be in charge of managing a team of IT Supervisors and/or technicians and the management of the company’s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies. An excellent IT Manager is very knowledgeable in IT and computer systems. They have a solid technical background while able to manage and motivate people. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet objectives. The goal is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and

    EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field (graduate degree a plus)

    • Minimum eight years’ experience working in IT operations

    • Minimum three years’ experience overseeing IT teams and projects

    • Certifications and continuing education preferred

    • Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems

    • Proven experience as IT Manager or similar role

    • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills

    • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects

    • Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Team oriented

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals.
    • Hires and leads team of IT staff.
    • Identifies and eliminates security risks.
    • Designs and implements IT strategies and infrastructure.
    • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
    • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
    • Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
    • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
    • Assesses need for new equipment and software by identifying the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
    • Coordinate IT supervisors and supervise computer scientists, technicians and other professionals to provide guidance
    • Control budget and report on expenditure
    • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
    • Works to increase user satisfaction.
    • Evaluates IT operations with regard to established goals.
    • Communicates within IT team and across departments as needed.
    • Prepares progress and budget reports for upper management.
    • Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors.
    • Manages company help desk.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMAND

    • Must be able to multi task
    • Must be able to handle high volume processing and phone calls.
    • Must work well in a team environment
    • Must be organized and able to work under pressure with time sensitive projects
