    POSITION TITLE: Graphic Design and Communications Intern 

    REPORTS TO: Marketing and Communications Specialist 

    STATUS: 15 hours/week, paid, class credit offered

Are you seeking an opportunity to develop your talents and do good in your community? PEARLS For Teen Girls is seeking a motivated, creative Graphic Design and Social Media whiz that enjoys crossing their T’s and dotting their I’s. Here’s your chance to grow and learn with a fun-loving and hardworking group of humans determined to transform our community one girl at a time.

    POSITION OVERVIEW: The Graphic Design and Communications Intern will assist the Marketing and Communications Specialist in guiding the development, design and execution of marketing collateral, social media strategy and promotions to consistently articulate PEARLS for Teen Girls’ mission.  

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Assist with conceptualization, layout and design of marketing initiatives in digital and print  

    • Social media promotions and calendar development  

    • Contribute to the evolution of PEARLS branding 

    • Support the development and implementation of different fundraising campaigns  

    • Develop a consistent layout for quarterly & volunteer newsletters and create content  

    • Assist in developing event themes, invitations, pre and post communications

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Major in graphic design, advertising, communications or related field 

    • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and website design such as Squarespace is a plus but not required 

    • Constant desire to learn and grow professionally and personally 

    • Strong design skills and creative vision 

    • Photography skills a plus

    • Ability to work and excel creatively in a collaborative and fast-paced work environment 

    • Ability to work independently and with a team 

    • Good organization skills and strong attention to detail 

    • Able to work from home within the hours of 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Monday through Friday 

    • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at one time 

    • Manage time effectively to efficiently meet timelines and budgets

     

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure guidelines and fiscal reporting requirements. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to generate reports for use by others. Ability to speak effectively before groups of youths, adults, and professionals.

    Other Skills and Abilities:

    Ability to operate various office equipment, including a computer, copier, fax, and telephone system. Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.  Ability to work with a non-judgmental attitude in a population comprised of diversity in gender, socio-economic and ethnic group, sexual orientation, and physical or mental abilities. Ability to work as a team as well as a self-directed attitude.
