    Job Description:

    The Helpdesk Support Staff is a position for supporting an online virtual language school. Helpdesk Support Staff ensures classes run successfully through to on-going monitoring and support. The primary responsibilities for the Helpdesk Support Staff are to support language classes through general user assistance, training users, resolving basic technical issues and other classroom related activities. The Helpdesk Support Staff must be able to follow procedures and instructions in our handbook to provide quality monitoring of virtual classes. Since the classes are live but take place over the Internet, the Helpdesk Support Staff must be present whenever a class is in session. Communication skills are essential, and the Helpdesk Support Staff must be able to speak and write effectively to support the users. Additionally, they must be able to work in a team environment, have attention to detail, and be able to juggle multiple inputs simultaneously (i.e. email, instant message, students requesting assistance, etc.). While familiarity with the Windows environment is necessary, in-depth knowledge of computer troubleshooting is not. The ability to problem solve, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks is essential. Previous experience working as technical support and/or customer service is a plus, but not required. Must be able to work as part of a team and be ready to assist when needed. Upon hiring, new Helpdesk Support Staff will go through initial training on Helpdesk processes and procedures.

    Because this is a remote position, candidates must have sufficient computer resources and fast enough Internet to effectively execute the job responsibilities.

    Required Skills:
