    Job Description

    SUMMARY:

    The Strategic Sales Specialist, Level I, will learn from and back up the Strategic Sales Specialist Level II on key accounts. Additionally, they will develop, enhance, and grow assigned accounts while exhibiting a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude toward customers. This employee must be a strong team player with a results-oriented attitude, be well organized, and be able to work quickly under time pressure while prioritizing his/her job responsibilities. Ultimately, this Sales Specialist, Level I must help exceed budgeted sales targets for his/her assigned accounts.

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    Degree from four-year College or university preferred; and/or 4 years or more of applicable sales experience desired. Successful completion of the company’s sales training program is required.

     

    TECHNICAL AND/OR MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES:

    Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel, and utilization of ASW400 system, as well as PEI CRM system, NetSuite.

     

    ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and enhance existing customer relationships to increase sales.
    • Learn from and accept coaching/directions from sales team.
    • Maintain regular customer contact, and be highly responsive to customer calls and inquiries.
    • Use backlog reports to expedite customer orders to secure on-time delivery.
    • Develop and grow knowledge of the full range and diversity of PEI’s products that are sold to each customer and identify new opportunities.
    • Network and develop new relationships with customers at various site locations.
    • Performs stock checks and obtains delivery information (may utilize on-line vendor access) to process customer quotes.
    • Runs, sorts and/or distributes daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports as instructed by Manager. These reports to include but not be limited to backlog reports, sales order hold reports, daily and monthly numbers.
    • Quotes customers via ASW and / or via Customer portal.
    • Provides assistance to the Strategic Sales Specialists, level II, as needed with quotes, account development, order entry, open order reports, and other tasks.
    • Consistently follow up on quotes and communicate key information to the Sales Specialist, level II, outside sales/ Global Account Manager (GAM) and management team to assist in closing the business.
    • Participates actively in PEI’s total quality process.
    • Participate in annual budgeting process, providing suggested customer or geographical sales dollar budget, GP dollar budget and GP percent budget.
    • Be an effective team player committed to company goals.
