    Manufacturing Process Engineer

    Job Summary

    The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for recording, developing, revising, and improving PEM’s processes across all departments, understanding the process of how PEM’s custom machinery is built, from sales, through engineering, to production, then testing and shipping. Identify waste, blind spots, and lack of clarity and control in processes and implement the needed solutions. A key role in developing the organization with best-in-class processes is maintaining PEM’s competitive advantages in the marketplace.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Develop, maintain, and improve PEM’s processes per assigned priorities and projects.
    • Lead or assist in resolving and coordinating process-related defects or issues in the sale, production, and testing of machinery and spare parts.
    • Identify waste, lack of control, and clarity in processes, systems, and workflow.
    • Lead or assist in the implementation of new processes and process revisions.
    • Lead or assist in the analysis and improvement of processes and products.
    • Implement systems to track metrics and then process and interpret gathered data.
    • Perform risk assessments on the processes, products, and systems used in the sale, development, and production of PEM’s custom machinery.
    • Write, maintain, and revise processes, procedures, and work instructions.
    • Lead or assist in facility changes impacting manufacturing or company operations. Many times, some changes require revisions or new development of processes.
    • Other related responsibilities and duties as assigned.
    • Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
    • Compliance with all safety rules and guidelines.
    • A strong work ethic and great attitude are needed.
    • Valid Driver’s License or Forklift Operator’s License

    Qualifications

    • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with 2-5 years of related manufacturing experience.
    • Experience with industrial manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, assembly, and painting.
    • Experience in Continuous Improvement tools and methodology (Theory of Constraints, Lean, or Six Sigma)
    • SolidWorks2019+ or CAD experience preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to plan, schedule, and multiple coordinate projects
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
    • Experience in process analysis, process improvement, and process development.
    • Knowledge and Experience with sales, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, customer service, and ERP system processes.
    • Possess a solid understanding of critical analysis and application in a manufacturing environment.
    • Results-oriented and deadline-driven
