    Position Description: Are you looking for a job with flexible hours, high-energy, a fun atmosphere, and you have a hand in helping people have fun? Are you currently in school and wanting to go into recreation or event management? Are you in high school looking to make some extra cash? If so, becoming a Recreation Aide at PERA might be the job for you! As a Recreation Aide, you will be assisting with the set up and break down of rooms and event spaces for special events, meetings, and various reservations by setting up tables, chairs and equipment needed for the scheduled event. You can also expect to assist in running events. We offer flexible hours and are currently seeking candidates looking to start work immediately. Shifts/hours will be available depending on event needs. What is the hourly pay? The payrate for Recreation Aides is $12.80 per hour. What to Expect During Your Shift: While no two days are the same at PERA, you can typically expect the following during a shift: - Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers, either in person, over the phone, or via email. - Setting up tables, chairs, and other needed equipment based on room diagrams. - Assisting Recreation Coordinators with various events, activities, and projects. - Directing customers to various meeting spaces. - Answering customer questions as they relate to PERA operations, events, classes, activities, and offerings. Candidates should have the ability to: - Effectively communicate with customers, coworkers and supervisors. - Understand and follow oral and written instruction. - Cover the front desk and assist guests with positive attitude. - Resolve guest issues and answer questions. - Perform basic computer functions. - Listen, communicate, and work effectively with a diverse group of people. - Attend various meetings as needed. - Collect payment via cash, check, or card accurately. - Work indoors or outdoors for duration of shift. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with PERA staff and customers. - Move stacks of chairs utilizing a chair cart. - Move stacks of tables utilizing a table cart. - Lift up to 30 pounds. Candidates should meet the following qualifications: Education & Experience: - Minimum - working towards a high school diploma or GED. - Six months customer service experience is preferred. Licenses/Certifications/Registrations - Driver's License
