LOCATION: Perimeter Solutions- Rancho Cucamonga, California
DESCRIPTION: Develop and conduct research projects that will support Fire Safety. The Research Chemist position will report to the R&D Manger and will work closely with other laboratory staff and other department staff.
Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Research and development with primary emphasis on product development of Fire Safety Products
- Design and conduct research that addresses customer needs and supports Perimeter Solutions business objectives
- Characterize and evaluate competitive products to identify potential threats and new product and/or acquisition opportunities
- Document and report all testing procedures, results and observations in a laboratory notebook
- Perform laboratory tests according to written procedures
- Interface with manufacturing for new product development that will include product trials and scale up
- Provide technical support for customer-focused projects and assist in resolving product quality issues
- Work closely and communicate technical information effectively with other departments and teams within Perimeter Solutions
- Provide documentation through written reports
- ESH compliance
- Must be able to travel
Experience/Skills Required:
- Minimum BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum seven years of experience in chemical industry with minimum five years working on product development and scale up.
- Excellent laboratory skills
- Experienced in patent language and writing.
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods
- Experienced in the Stage Gate process and project management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills- good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and creative skills
- Demonstrated ability to work and contribute to a team setting
- Experienced in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.)
- Experienced in writing technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations
