Description

The Formulation Chemist II will report to the R&D Manager and work closely with laboratory and other department staff. This position is responsible for development and research related to the Phos-Chek line of fire retardants.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Research and development with primary emphasis on improvement of current Fire Safety Products
• Design and conduct research that addresses customer needs and supports Perimeter Solutions business objectives.
• Document and report all testing procedures, results and observations in a laboratory notebook.
• Perform laboratory tests according to written procedures.
• Interface with manufacturing for new product development that will include product trials and scale up
• Provide technical support for customer-focused projects and assist in resolving product quality issues.
• Work closely and communicate technical information effectively with other departments and teams within Perimeter Solutions
• Provide documentation through written reports.
• ESH compliance

Experience/Skills:

• Proficient in writing technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
• Proficient in data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods
• Excellent laboratory skills
• Experienced in patent language and writing.
• Experienced in Stage Gate process and project management.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills- good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and creative skills
• Demonstrated ability to work and contribute to a team setting.
• Experienced in Minitab

Requirements:

• Minimum BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Minimum three years of experience in chemical industry working on product development and improvement of current formulations.
• Must be able to travel a minimum of 10% throughout the US and Canada
• Must be able to work after hours and weekends as needed.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
