    DESCRIPTION:

    The Office of Educational Technology at Georgia Gwinnett College is seeking a Systems Administrator I to work in the Department of Enterprise Systems.  This position will assist in the implementation, support server operating systems, and applications for the college. The position will report to Director of Networking and Infrastructure within the Office of Educational Technology.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    The following are the high level responsibilities:

    • Will work with the System Administrators II & III, Team Leads, and Department Director to ensure Server security and connectivity
    • Deploy basic Operating Systems (Windows and Linux based systems) and Applications within virtual and physical infrastructures
    • Basic scripting of common tasks
    • Perform basic system maintenance
    • Patch and update Operating Systems and Applications
    • Manage user, group, printer, file systems and shares
    • Perform basic administration of O365
    • Ensure security, reliability, and integrity of Operating Systems and Applications
    • Administrate Active Directory, including Account Provisioning and Group Policy management
    • Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or escalate identified issues.
    • Monitors Server Environments (physical and virtual) events daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
    • Patch and Update Server Operating Systems and applications for security, reliability, and integrity
    • Document installations parameters and as-build docs
    • Perform system maintenance
    • Write end-user documentation
    • Provide weekend on-call service as either Primary or Secondary support in a scheduled team rotation
    • Be on-call or available 24 hour/7 days a week via campus provided phone
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:          

    REQUIRED

    • 2 years of experience working with VMware and Virtualization
    • Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on server administration in a Windows environment
    • Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of knowledge administrating Linux Systems
    • •Ability to work independently and with minimal day-to-day supervision
    • Experience working with administration and configuration on OnSSI Ocularis Camera solution
    • Experience with installation, administration, and configuration on Axis Cameras
    • Contribute to documentation and procedures with existing and new 'as-built' servers
    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration
    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications, such as Exchange, SharePoint, One Drive for Business, and Skype for Business
    • Develop, document, and improve standard practices for user account management, printing, file shares, and other resources
    • Experience with User Account and Identity management

     

    PREFERRED

    • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), MCITP: Systems Administrator, or equivalent.
    • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter
    • Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
    • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
    • Create and verify backups of data
    • Respond to and resolve help desk requests
    • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
    • Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
    • Review application logs
    • PowerShell scripting experience
    • Work with 3rd Party Vendors on various Projects, as necessary, via phone, email, or other
    • Proven problem-solving skills in a multiple-vendor environment
    • Develop, document, and improve standard practices for user account management, printing, file shares, and other resources
    • Troubleshoot with OET Network Team on any type of system outage
