    JOB SUMMARY:

    The MFM Physician is an integral part of the team that will provide care and oversight for patients. This individual will participate in all clinical activities provided by the Division, including:

    1. Outpatient consultation regarding the full spectrum of antepartum, preconception and postpartum complications or concerns for patients/providers in our community.
    2. Inpatient consultation to the OBGYN service, other hospital services and the emergency department for pregnancy-related matters
    3. Supervision and provision of genetics counseling services
    4. Supervision and provision of OB/GYN ultrasound services
    5. Interpretation of antepartum fetal testing
    6. Supervision of emergency gynecological consultation services, performed in the division offices

    The physician will participate in the Division on-call consultation service, nights and weekends, through the year- according to a mutually agreed-upon schedule.

    The physician will participate in the educational activities supported by the Division, including:

    1. Direct supervision of OBGYN and Family Medicine residents, as needed, on the Obstetrical service.
    2. Direct supervision and education of residents rotating through the antepartum service
    3. Participation in the resident didactic curriculum
    4. Participation in the education of medical students, physician assistant students and other allied health students as needed
    5. Participation in Departmental research

     

    PATIENT POPULATION SERVED:

    Adolescence (13-17 years)

    Neonate/Infant (Birth to 1 year)

    Pediatric/Early Childhood (1-12 years)

    Adult (18-64 years)

    Geriatric (65 plus years)

     

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Connecticut.

    • Board Certified or Board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine

    • Graduate of recognized medical school.

    • Graduate of an ACGME approved residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology

    • Graduate of a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine

    -Candidate with a minimum of 2 years prior experience Preferred; candidates who have graduated from a Fellowship program are welcome to apply and will be considered.
